Overview
CyberAssure ("we", "us", "our") operates the website cyberassure.com.au. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you visit our website or purchase our products.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This website is designed to minimise data collection, and our assessment tools run entirely in your browser.
Privacy by Design
CyberAssure is intentionally built to minimise data collection. Our assessment tools run entirely in your browser — your responses are never transmitted to our servers. This architecture reflects our belief that security assessment data belongs to you, not us.
Information We Collect
When You Make a Purchase
All purchases are processed through Payhip, a secure third-party payment platform. When you purchase a product, Payhip collects:
- Your name and email address
- Billing address
- Payment details (credit card, PayPal, or other payment method)
We receive from Payhip:
- Your name and email address
- Product(s) purchased and purchase date
- Country of purchase (for tax purposes)
We do not receive or store your credit card details, bank account information, or full billing address. This information is handled securely by Payhip and their payment processors (Stripe and PayPal).
When You Contact Us
If you contact us via our contact form, we receive and store your name, email address, and any information you provide in your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry.
When You Submit a Partner Application
If you apply to become a CyberAssure partner via our partner application form, we collect the following information:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Your role or title
- Your business name, business type, and website
- An estimate of the number of clients your business serves
- A description of your typical clients and the services you provide them
- Your intended approach to offering CyberAssure assessments
- Your areas of interest within our product range
- The type of support you would need from CyberAssure
- Any additional questions or comments you choose to provide
This information is used solely to evaluate your application, contact you about the outcome, and — if approved — to set up and manage our partnership arrangement. Partner application data is not used for marketing purposes and is not shared with third parties.
Information We Do Not Collect
This website and our products do not:
- Use cookies or tracking technologies
- Implement analytics services
- Collect or transmit your assessment responses
- Track user behaviour or browsing patterns
Our assessment tools are downloadable products that run entirely in your browser. Any data you enter into an assessment tool remains on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we receive from Payhip to:
- Deliver your purchased products
- Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
- Send product updates or important notifications (if applicable)
- Comply with legal and tax obligations
We use information submitted via our contact form solely to respond to your enquiry.
We use information submitted via our partner application form to evaluate your application, contact you regarding the outcome, and — where a partnership is established — to administer and support that arrangement.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Payment Processing and Payhip
Payhip acts as our merchant of record for all purchases. They handle payment processing, product delivery, and VAT/GST collection where applicable. When you make a purchase:
- You transact directly with Payhip's secure checkout
- Payment is processed by Stripe or PayPal (depending on your chosen method)
- Your product is delivered via Payhip's download system
- Payhip handles refund requests on our behalf
For information on how Payhip handles your data, please refer to Payhip's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
We retain purchase records for the period required by Australian tax law (currently 5 years). Contact form submissions are retained for a reasonable period to maintain records of our communications and support history.
Partner application data is retained for the duration of any resulting partnership arrangement, and for a reasonable period thereafter to maintain a record of the application. Applications that do not result in a partnership are retained for a reasonable period and then deleted.
Data Security
While we minimise data collection, we take reasonable measures to protect any information we hold. Payhip uses industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your payment information.
Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Lodge a complaint if you believe we have breached your privacy
To exercise these rights, please use our contact form.
Australian Privacy Principles
We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Our minimal data collection approach reflects our commitment to privacy by design.
